Anzac day dawned sunny and bright this year and we were at South Steyne Surflub to run the sound for the beach ceremony, with an audience of around 400 people.

Speakers were placed on the sand facing the walkway in some very hot and testing conditions, the boxes were red hot before they were switched on which was a slight concern!

The key speakers told of the bravery of the men from Manly who rowed the boats ashore at Gallipoli.

Some of the first Soldiers into the fray and many lost their lives in the process, a great tradition of remembrance.

We used wired mics for this and kept it basic to avoid the confusion of mic signals etc.. and wanted to keep the sand out. cables were run in the sand and the crowd could hear clearly. 

Harbord Hilton 2 UP

This event is always a challenge due to the numbers of people who flock to the venue for the traditional 2UP day. Well over 1000 people were enjoying the atmosphere, we place 4 QSC K 10's around the site, with 2 Wireless mics and music throughout.

We chose the K10's because of their size and dispersion of 90 degrees ensuring the caller was heard but not deafening.

On return we were treated to a sight of people going crazy and beer soaked cables. it was a huge success and we will be back next year!

Elanora Golf Club wedding

This a great venue with huge outdoor spaces and large rooms for a hi end wedding.

we had a duo in the marquee and Dj rig in the ballroom all needing great sound.

Poco Uno employed to sort the sound out on this extravagant wedding day.

It looked and sounded very impressive when all done!

Cdj 2000 nexus dj decks Djm 900 mixer, RCF HD12 speakers with Subs all went in and worked flawlessly.

They were happy with the sound and the event went off without a hitch.

Northern Beaches PA hire summer 2015/2016 weddings events, parties and charity events

This month at Northern Beaches PA Hire has been busy with a wide variety of events

November is always a busy time to get married and there is no place better than the Northern beaches of Sydney.

Our two favorite venues  The Boathouse and Long Reef Golf Club have kept us busy with varied weddings and functions.

We have also discovered a new gem Milestone events at Manly, this family run business has secured the Sargent's Mess at North Head. this venue is set in the ground of the old army barracks and is a great place for a wedding as you can be in a private place and you can be as noisy as you like!!

There is also a bus to take everyone home at the end.

Superb attention to detail with this family run business means flexibility and a great event every time

A Walk for Brain Cancer 2015 Manly

For the 4th year we organised the sound system at this event at Shelley beach 4 powerful   QSC k series speakers sent the message and the music to warm up the crowd at this worthwhile event  

CELEBRITIES  including rugby league great Brad Fittler, Miss Universe Australia Monika Radulovic and a few Manly Sea Eagles will be joining a huge charity walk starting at Shelly Beach on Sunday.

They will all be supporting the Walk4BrainCancer, which aims to raise $150,000 for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.

Clontarf’s Bec Lucas, 23, started the event five years ago in honour of her father, Tony, who had just died from the terrible disease.

“Dad very much believed in the work of the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation and channelled a lot of his energy into raising funds and awareness,” she said.

“I wanted to continue his legacy and also make a difference, so that other families don’t have to go through what (our family) did.

“The first year, we hoped to get 200 walkers and raise $20,000, but we got 800 walkers and raised $80,000.”

We are just coming up for air after a hectic holiday period with plenty of weddings and outdoor events with great weather here on Sydney's northern beaches.

All sorts of events were being celebrated in Manly for NYE 2015 we hired lots of sound and light packs to the bars and individuals bringing the new year in style.

Popular items such as Pioneer CDJ 900's and 2000's were running out the door, Aloha Manly , Elbeau Room, Sugarlounge and Havana Beach all threw a big night for a select few ticket holders.

A new one for us has been Swimming Carnivals, using the powerful but light Behringer B112W speakers we have been able to cover 50m pools with ease with up to 1000 people on site, mics and background music. From Drummoyne to Freshwater we are servicing a new market for us with these cost effective speakers.

This event ran over 3 days and various bits kit were being run back and forth for different events over the period lots of fun in and out of the water.

Mckillop out look wedding Northern Beaches

We had a great wedding at Mckillop lookout Freshwater  great weather and an amazing singer from Burundi made it a memorable event with some colourful guests and funny moments

We used a Roland BA 55 with Reverb for the singer and boosted the sound with a Mipro act770 to provide some fill to the sound at this windy spot  with 100 guests we thought it maybe tricky, but were relieved to find no wind  so it made life a lot easier.

Outdoor weddings with Portable Speakers on the Northern Beaches

We had a great start to summer with a wedding at Dunes in Palm Beach a great couple from Manly who really enjoyed the day. Out on the grass in strong wind it was going to be a challenge so a variety of kit was loaded into the van.

2 x Roland Ba 55's linked with wireless handheld mic and Sennheiser  Lapel all running off batteries in strong wind!

Also music from a phone just to add extra complication that had to be controlled throughout the wedding. 

The Lapel was suffering from wind noise even with a sock so it was dropped and a second Roland handheld mic was used, these mics did not pick up the wind to any audible level which i was surprised and pretty happy with.

The minister had to tape his notes to the Lecturn which blew over twice!

The sound out front was balanced between the two units and the couple and guests had no idea that the wind was a factor and the Roland BA 55's worked flawlessly.
