This month at Northern Beaches PA Hire has been busy with a wide variety of events

November is always a busy time to get married and there is no place better than the Northern beaches of Sydney.

Our two favorite venues  The Boathouse and Long Reef Golf Club have kept us busy with varied weddings and functions.

We have also discovered a new gem Milestone events at Manly, this family run business has secured the Sargent's Mess at North Head. this venue is set in the ground of the old army barracks and is a great place for a wedding as you can be in a private place and you can be as noisy as you like!!

There is also a bus to take everyone home at the end.

Superb attention to detail with this family run business means flexibility and a great event every time

A Walk for Brain Cancer 2015 Manly

For the 4th year we organised the sound system at this event at Shelley beach 4 powerful   QSC k series speakers sent the message and the music to warm up the crowd at this worthwhile event  

CELEBRITIES  including rugby league great Brad Fittler, Miss Universe Australia Monika Radulovic and a few Manly Sea Eagles will be joining a huge charity walk starting at Shelly Beach on Sunday.

They will all be supporting the Walk4BrainCancer, which aims to raise $150,000 for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.

Clontarf’s Bec Lucas, 23, started the event five years ago in honour of her father, Tony, who had just died from the terrible disease.

“Dad very much believed in the work of the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation and channelled a lot of his energy into raising funds and awareness,” she said.

“I wanted to continue his legacy and also make a difference, so that other families don’t have to go through what (our family) did.

“The first year, we hoped to get 200 walkers and raise $20,000, but we got 800 walkers and raised $80,000.”

Good For Manly with Northern Beaches PA Hire and Ulterior Motive

Sept 26th Manly Oval, 500 people 3 musicians an Independent Councillor on a mission to stop Manly Council dig up this patch of green and "Put Up A Parking Lot" 

Councillor Candy Bingham is always a voice for the people's view of what is good for Manly. Sometimes opposing the Council's stance on redevelopment in the area she engages the people who live and pay the rates into the council coffers.

This protest was no exception 500 - 600 people turned out in unpredictable weather to listen local super tight trio Ulterior Motive warm up the crowd with some great tracks from the 70's that had the Baby Boomers singing along to Sweet Home Alabama etc. culminating with a rendition of Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi with emphasis on the "Parking lot".

  

We used minimal kit  3 Behringer B112w powered Speakers with a Eurorack mixer, Beta 58 and Sm 58 mics. The guys turned up and played and we quickly worked out that playing in front of a roofed Grandstand had a unique effect on the sound especially with the speakers on high stands filling the space with surprisingly clear  and warm sound from such a small improvised rig.

The three band members who are all professional muso's commented on the sound from the small speakers i had chosen to use , mainly because of the weather idecided to use light small speakers that could handle some rain and punishment and not cost the earth to replace. 

I have quickly found the Behringer B112 speaker a versatile reliable speaker with around 14 hired each week some coming back looking like they had been attacked by a group of Kindergarten kids, super reliable with one tweeter out of 14 blown once in a year of hire that works for me! Compare that with 14 JBL speakers and you would have a hard time keeping your running costs that low.

The event was a success for all concerned and we packed away dry and without incident.

Ulterior Motive  are a great band for the thinking persons wedding or party, playing popular diverse quality music which can be hard to find these days.

Summer 2014 has been a busy few months for us we have been road testing the new Behringer range of Bluetooth speaker systems with digital GSM band mics and running the QSC K Series speakers almost every day at a variety of different applications.

So far from 12 pairs of Behringer B112WS  we have had no faults or problems using them in a broad range of situations from deep house parties to conferences with ROCHE International.

I am constantly surprised that  these speakers come back each week working perfectly after being driven hard by customers, compared to the Wharfedale 12D speaker which was our mainstay 2 years ago these have not had a single fault.

The Wharfedale 12D is a great sounding speaker but let down by a week tweeter and a power supply that sometimes goes dead without warning, we had 20 pairs in the hire department and i must have replaced at least 20 tweeters. Although 2 were used by a sound technician to promote Beyonce's single recorded in Newcastle with great feedback of the sound quality and range from these small powerful portable speakers

The QSC K series is a great go to speaker with a variety of inputs and a pleasing sound to the customer, i probably wish that i had gone with the Yamaha DSR and DXR range as the local supplier is not doing me any favours with this range of great quality speakers, but i'am a small fish in a big pond, we have 16 speakers in our inventory for summer including the K12, K110, and K Sub 

The JBL PRX 6 series are still the No 1 for dance music with a great range for 4 to the floor style sounds, i haven't hear great things about the 7 series so have avoided changing yet due to the high cost of anything to do with JBL replacement parts.

In the last week we have  done events for Bassike clothing label, Warringah council Xmas Party, Brookvale Medical centre with the speaker of the house Bronwyn Bishop, Amaysim tel co, Dee Why Grand, Sky Television, AVA Party Hire, the Sugarlounge Manly, Surfection, World Presidents Organisation, Berkelouw Books and many more.

Manly has an amazing number of Cafe's and Coffee shops, our favorite is the Belgrave Cartel. it is always buzzing morning and night with the in crowd and the in the know crowd.

The coffee, service and atmosphere bring people back time and again.

Jazzy Jeff comes to the Party with Northern Beaches PA Hire!

Its been a crazy couple of weeks for us the highlight had to be the Legendary Jazzy Jeff coming to Manly to Play at the Brooklyn Bar.
We added some extra sound in the shape of some JBL PRX tops with QSC K Subs this coupled with the venues system added some punch around the decks where about 150 crowded around to watch the main act. he did not disappoint, the crowd loved it in this intimate setting.

The Warringah council was a more relaxed affair with singer ASH MACEDO on stage for 400 guests

we used the QSC K12s with wireless Sennheiser transmitters  allowing a cable less stup for the back of the room

The last gig was back to our favourite wedding destination at the Q Station for a great looking wedding in the Govener Phillip Ball Room the DJ was happy with the QSc K10s providing a warm sound to this echo chamber, we also wash light the walls adding some needed colour.
