Good For Manly with Northern Beaches PA Hire and Ulterior Motive

Sept 26th Manly Oval, 500 people 3 musicians an Independent Councillor on a mission to stop Manly Council dig up this patch of green and "Put Up A Parking Lot"

Councillor Candy Bingham is always a voice for the people's view of what is good for Manly. Sometimes opposing the Council's stance on redevelopment in the area she engages the people who live and pay the rates into the council coffers.

This protest was no exception 500 - 600 people turned out in unpredictable weather to listen local super tight trio Ulterior Motive warm up the crowd with some great tracks from the 70's that had the Baby Boomers singing along to Sweet Home Alabama etc. culminating with a rendition of Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi with emphasis on the "Parking lot".

We used minimal kit  3 Behringer B112w powered Speakers with a Eurorack mixer, Beta 58 and Sm 58 mics. The guys turned up and played and we quickly worked out that playing in front of a roofed Grandstand had a unique effect on the sound especially with the speakers on high stands filling the space with surprisingly clear  and warm sound from such a small improvised rig.

The three band members who are all professional muso's commented on the sound from the small speakers i had chosen to use , mainly because of the weather idecided to use light small speakers that could handle some rain and punishment and not cost the earth to replace.

I have quickly found the Behringer B112 speaker a versatile reliable speaker with around 14 hired each week some coming back looking like they had been attacked by a group of Kindergarten kids, super reliable with one tweeter out of 14 blown once in a year of hire that works for me! Compare that with 14 JBL speakers and you would have a hard time keeping your running costs that low.

The event was a success for all concerned and we packed away dry and without incident.

Ulterior Motive  are a great band for the thinking persons wedding or party, playing popular diverse quality music which can be hard to find these days.

Northern Beaches PA Hire Autumn Events

100 Years of ANZAC Events on the Northern Beaches

Across the Northern Beaches Councils have employed our portable sound solutions this Autumn

The D Class battery powerd soundsystems has been in big demand in recent weeks. It seems everyone wants to hold an event outside without the convenience of 'mains power'.

The new range of battery powered speakers we have are light powerful and easy to use.

Adding some extra volume at any outdoor event is a must, as weather & background noise can leave even the loudest and most professional voice struggling to cut through.

We have also found that events for the ANZAC 100 years commemorations have needed attended by older demographics. Add to this large groups, better sound quality is paramount.

Anzac Eve found us on Manly Beach. A moving tribute to the men from Manly who rowed the boats ashore at Gallipoli. The very experienced, Simon Westaway, MC set the scene perfectly for the 200
plus people who gathered to pay tribute to those who gave so much.

Mike Baird along with the Commadore of the Navy laid wreathes in the waves as the sun went down.

We used two older Mipro Systems linked with a wired mic to ensure stability of the sound. The event ran smoothly and more importantly all these heartfelt words and ceromoinies were heard.

Also at Collaroy Beach an unveiling of an important war time memory

Family members and local artists arrived to celebrate the life of a wartime series events that involved many people from the northern beaches, involving wives knitting socks and clothes for men in the trenches, it was a story of struggle through adversity and the ANZAC spirit within the community.

We used the Roland BA55 and wireless mic system to bring this event to life.

Northern Beaches PA Hire summer events, parties and functions 2014 / 2015

Northern Beaches summer Events, Parties and Functions a great range of sound equipment for your Party or Event

Warringah Council, Amaysim, Federal politicians, Medical Center's, Weddings and Outdoor Cinema, Bassike Xmas bash

Summer 2014 has been a busy few months for us we have been road testing the new Behringer range of Bluetooth speaker systems with digital GSM band mics and running the QSC K Series speakers almost every day at a variety of different applications.

So far from 12 pairs of Behringer B112WS  we have had no faults or problems using them in a broad range of situations from deep house parties to conferences with ROCHE International.

I am constantly surprised that  these speakers come back each week working perfectly after being driven hard by customers, compared to the Wharfedale 12D speaker which was our mainstay 2 years ago these have not had a single fault.

The Wharfedale 12D is a great sounding speaker but let down by a week tweeter and a power supply that sometimes goes dead without warning, we had 20 pairs in the hire department and i must have replaced at least 20 tweeters. Although 2 were used by a sound technician to promote Beyonce's single recorded in Newcastle with great feedback of the sound quality and range from these small powerful portable speakers

The QSC K series is a great go to speaker with a variety of inputs and a pleasing sound to the customer, i probably wish that i had gone with the Yamaha DSR and DXR range as the local supplier is not doing me any favours with this range of great quality speakers, but i'am a small fish in a big pond, we have 16 speakers in our inventory for summer including the K12, K110, and K Sub

The JBL PRX 6 series are still the No 1 for dance music with a great range for 4 to the floor style sounds, i haven't hear great things about the 7 series so have avoided changing yet due to the high cost of anything to do with JBL replacement parts.

In the last week we have  done events for Bassike clothing label, Warringah council Xmas Party, Brookvale Medical centre with the speaker of the house Bronwyn Bishop, Amaysim tel co, Dee Why Grand, Sky Television, AVA Party Hire, the Sugarlounge Manly, Surfection, World Presidents Organisation, Berkelouw Books and many more.

A Beach walk for Brain Cancer was again a huge success with nearly 2000 walkers involved raising $130,000 for Brain Cancer. Bec Lucas was blessed with the weather for the third year, with Mike Baird and Grant Goldman setting off the walkers.

We used to QSC K12 speakers either side of the stage with a simple wired mic set up. The sand is your enemy in this type of environment so simple is good . It all went off without a hitch and we are back on for next year!

Party speaker hire for summer 2014 and 2015 on the Northern Beaches of Sydney

Summer is fast approaching and it is time to plan your party event or wedding on the northern beaches of Sydney.

At Northern Beaches PA Hire and our sister company Northern Beaches Speaker hire we have a great range of brand new hi quality affordable sound solutions for any event or party on the Northern Beaches.

From  the latest technology Behringer B112W with Bluetooth capability means no more cables 500 watts of usable power and wireless linking between speakers, they sound great and are great fun to use at any party or wedding. At $45 with stand an power leads they are the first stop for 21sts, 18ths and house parties.

Moving up from there we have the JBL PRX range for the serious DJ, plenty of bottom end for dance music

these are proven and sound great when used with Pioneer mixers, at $55 they are great solution for upto 300 people

The QSC K10 and K12 series of powered speakers were a game changer when they came out, superbly flexible inputs and solid construction means they are very popular. We use these at conferences and for speech as the vocal boost is great when using wireless mics etc.. $60 to hire for 24hrs

My personal favorite is the RCF HD12  Italian made with a huge pedigree this box is 600 watts of clean usable power and is my go to box for all vocal applications as the hi end is second to none for a sub $1500 box. They really are worth the extra few dollars if sound is important to you.$70 for 24 hrs

Subwoofers add some decent bottom end to any party and we use QSC KSUBS and the ultra portable EV ZXA1  rated at 1000 watts and 700 watts respectively, not always needed but for a bigger room it can change the sound dramatically.

Both these subs are great i like the EV as it is so light you can carry it in one hand two will give you 1400 watts of tight punchy bass ideal for smaller venues where 18inch subs will sound muddy at $50 each they are first stop for subs. The QSC is bigger and is on casters sounding great with two 12 inch cones and 2x 500 watt amps in slightly larger venues but you will need a van to move them effectively.

We also have partner companies who can offer larger setups for bands gigs and events and some professional sound engineers who have worked with the best in the business.

Tim Carrol is a veteran of the live music scene having many credits to his name including setting up the original sound system at the legendary Basement in Sydney. He specializes in Jazz, Roots and Country, he has a great rig and the experience and patience to ensure that you are getting the best from the desk, the speakers and the operator. Jazz and acoustic music is the most difficult to replicate well live, if you need this level professionalism for your gig contact us to book the master Tim Carrol.

We are also partnered with Lights To Party who provide the ultimate lighting solutions. And AVA Party hire for all your event infrastructure this summer from Glasses to dancefloors.

Talk to the professionals first and get the best advice and proven results for any event on the Northern Beaches this summer   Northern Beaches PA Hire 0407 498 970

the video clip in the Hunter. We supplied the sound playback speakers for the shoot!  We didn't know till after the event as the whole event was shrouded in secrecy !!

The sound tech took a set of Wharfedale 12d's with padded covers and stands to playback the music for the dance segments in the shoot.

he said they worked perfectly with the sound even out in the open on the dunes cutting through so that every body could hear, shows what a versatile piece of kit these are!

Filming of the video clip reportedly wrapped at Stockton sand dunes yesterday
