Weddings at Long Reef Golf Club and The Boathouse 

If you are planning to get married this Summer or Autumn then start by making a list of all the things you will need, somewhere at the bottom or scribbled in the side will be "audio" quite often with a question mark.

Usually the groom will be tasked to "sort something out with his mate in a band who has a speaker in the garage"

This speaker will either not work or be turned into a rabbit hutch or something similar and will let you down on the day.

Good For Manly with Northern Beaches PA Hire and Ulterior Motive

Sept 26th Manly Oval, 500 people 3 musicians an Independent Councillor on a mission to stop Manly Council dig up this patch of green and "Put Up A Parking Lot" 

Councillor Candy Bingham is always a voice for the people's view of what is good for Manly. Sometimes opposing the Council's stance on redevelopment in the area she engages the people who live and pay the rates into the council coffers.

This protest was no exception 500 - 600 people turned out in unpredictable weather to listen local super tight trio Ulterior Motive warm up the crowd with some great tracks from the 70's that had the Baby Boomers singing along to Sweet Home Alabama etc. culminating with a rendition of Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi with emphasis on the "Parking lot".

  

We used minimal kit  3 Behringer B112w powered Speakers with a Eurorack mixer, Beta 58 and Sm 58 mics. The guys turned up and played and we quickly worked out that playing in front of a roofed Grandstand had a unique effect on the sound especially with the speakers on high stands filling the space with surprisingly clear  and warm sound from such a small improvised rig.

The three band members who are all professional muso's commented on the sound from the small speakers i had chosen to use , mainly because of the weather idecided to use light small speakers that could handle some rain and punishment and not cost the earth to replace. 

I have quickly found the Behringer B112 speaker a versatile reliable speaker with around 14 hired each week some coming back looking like they had been attacked by a group of Kindergarten kids, super reliable with one tweeter out of 14 blown once in a year of hire that works for me! Compare that with 14 JBL speakers and you would have a hard time keeping your running costs that low.

The event was a success for all concerned and we packed away dry and without incident.

Ulterior Motive  are a great band for the thinking persons wedding or party, playing popular diverse quality music which can be hard to find these days.

The Fun was non stop at The St Mary's School Disco In Manly

200 people gathered in the playground to hear the teachers rock the party.

we used a pair of JBL PRX 612s which was plenty of sound in the courtyard environment and allowed the parents to be in a quiet spot at the side!

 A Pioneer DJM 800 connected to two Macbook Airs streaming You Tube and Vimeo on to the screen and through the mixer as audio allowed some fun for these first time Djs.

Small led light rig added some magic with some great looking Led par cans under the stage.

The mayor of Warringah Michael Regan was on hand to proceedings on a lovely Spring day

at Dee Why Beach.

The numbers my be dwindling but the message of war and the sacrifice of the people who served and supported the campaign is not lost at these events.

We are just coming up for air after a hectic holiday period with plenty of weddings and outdoor events with great weather here on Sydney's northern beaches.

All sorts of events were being celebrated in Manly for NYE 2015 we hired lots of sound and light packs to the bars and individuals bringing the new year in style.

Popular items such as Pioneer CDJ 900's and 2000's were running out the door, Aloha Manly , Elbeau Room, Sugarlounge and Havana Beach all threw a big night for a select few ticket holders.

A new one for us has been Swimming Carnivals, using the powerful but light Behringer B112W speakers we have been able to cover 50m pools with ease with up to 1000 people on site, mics and background music. From Drummoyne to Freshwater we are servicing a new market for us with these cost effective speakers.

This event ran over 3 days and various bits kit were being run back and forth for different events over the period lots of fun in and out of the water.

We had a great wedding at Mckillop lookout Freshwater  great weather and an amazing singer from Burundi made it a memorable event with some colourful guests and funny moments

We used a Roland BA 55 with Reverb for the singer and boosted the sound with a Mipro act770 to provide some fill to the sound at this windy spot  with 100 guests we thought it maybe tricky, but were relieved to find no wind  so it made life a lot easier.

Beach  Weddings and Beach Walks summer is here on the Beaches 

We have had a great start to Summer hear at Northern Beaches PA Hire with some great weather for our out door season. Some new equipment has arrived and the phone has been ringing off the hook with people wanting our great sounding speakers and personal service

A Beach walk for Brain Cancer was again a huge success with nearly 2000 walkers involved raising $130,000 for Brain Cancer. Bec Lucas was blessed with the weather for the third year, with Mike Baird and Grant Goldman setting off the walkers.

 We used to QSC K12 speakers either side of the stage with a simple wired mic set up. The sand is your enemy in this type of environment so simple is good . It all went off without a hitch and we are back on for next year!

We had a great start to summer with a wedding at Dunes in Palm Beach a great couple from Manly who really enjoyed the day. Out on the grass in strong wind it was going to be a challenge so a variety of kit was loaded into the van.

2 x Roland Ba 55's linked with wireless handheld mic and Sennheiser  Lapel all running off batteries in strong wind!

Also music from a phone just to add extra complication that had to be controlled throughout the wedding. 

The Lapel was suffering from wind noise even with a sock so it was dropped and a second Roland handheld mic was used, these mics did not pick up the wind to any audible level which i was surprised and pretty happy with.

The minister had to tape his notes to the Lecturn which blew over twice!

The sound out front was balanced between the two units and the couple and guests had no idea that the wind was a factor and the Roland BA 55's worked flawlessly.

Northern Beaches PA Hire at the Grand Pacific Ballroom Manly

 A big venue with a capacity crowd last night for a fund raising dinner supporting a rare form of cancer, at the Manly Pacific Hotel, 

We provided background music during dinner and kept people buzzing on the dance floor.a great night for a good cause. 500 people packed the ballroom to raise money and celebrate a life. 

Local Northern Beaches Charity's call us first to help out and we normally are able to assist.

Manly Rotary Fun Run, Walk For Brain Cancer, Bear Cottage are among our annual charity sponsored events.

Its been another busy week here on the northern beaches with so many summertime events happening all at once. We have teamed up with Sydney's premier party lighting company Lights To Party based in Mona Vale.

Outdoor Weddings Northern Beaches sound equipment hire

A busy and wet weekend for everyone, but we managed to dodge the rain for an awesome outdoor wedding on Collaroy beach.
Three vocals and two guitars coupled with 2 Roland BA 55s sounded great even though conditions were tough.
That evening it was a warehouse party in Botany bay with the QSC rig coming into its own helping the A list of the Fashion and TV world boogie the night away ( no pictures allowed on this one ) im afraid.

The sound cut through even with the wind howling as the clouds departed and the sun shone briefly, everybody was in great spirits.
